ARE YOU COVERED PROPERLY?
Have your Mezuzot been checked recently to make sure they are still Kosher? (Cracked or faded scrolls deem the scroll unfit for use).
We can have your Mezuzot checked by a certified scribe and then reinstall them for you.

Many people have been dislocated due to the hurricane. Due to extensive water and structural damage, it may take weeks, or even months, to make the necessary repairs.
We have been fielding many calls from people who are asking us if we know of anyone willing to rent part of their home, or even a room or two-either for a few weeks or several months.
If you can help with this, please contact us at 516-833-3057 and ask for Chana S. or e-mail [email protected] |
OFFICE SPACE |
WAS YOUR OFFICE DAMAGED IN HURRICANE SANDY?
Depending on what type of office space you are looking for, we may have some office space available for rent.
If your office space was damaged in the hurricane, please contact our office at [email protected] and ask for Latifa. |

Donate for Hurricane Relief |
It is very hard for those of us who are lucky enough to have a warm home, to imagine what people in our community are going through, but all you have to do is visit South Merrick/Bellmore/Wantagh,
and many other areas-you literally cannot believe how these areas have been impacted. Quick TV images and internet pictures do not tell you the real picture. Modern times of 2012 or not, these men, women and children, need real tangible assistance regardless of denomination.
To donate to our local hurricane relief fund, which assists us in our local efforts, and will be distributed to families in our community who need it, please click
here (please note in the comment box-Hurricane Relief).
To donate to the general Chabad hurricane relief fund, whose proceeds will go directly to our network of centers that have been hard-hit by the hurricane, please click
here. This fund is run by volunteers, ensuring that 100% of your donation will go directly to help those in need. |

Some Humor |
Get your weekly dose of smiles and laughs!
An old Jewish beggar was out on the street, begging with his tin cup. A man passed by and the beggar said to him, “Sir, could you spare a quarter for a cup of coffee?”
The man asked, “Where can you get coffee for a quarter these days?”
“Who buys retail?” replied the beggar.
This week we read how Abraham, the first Jew, paid retail for the Cave of Machpelah in the city of Hebron. He paid over and above retail value, so that its ownership should be established beyond doubt.
Israel is our very special home. It is ours because G-d—who created heaven and earth—chose to give it to us, His chosen people. Let us enjoy His gift with grace and thanks. |
Weekly Parshah |
Parshat Chayei Sarah
Sarah dies at age 127 and is buried in the Machpelah Cave in Hebron, which Abraham purchases from Ephron the Hittite for four hundred shekels of silver.
Abraham’s servant Eliezer is sent, laden with gifts, to Charan, to find a wife for Isaac. At the village well, Eliezer asks G‑d for a sign: when the maidens come to the well, he will ask for some water to drink; the woman
who will offer to give his camels to drink as well shall be the one destined for his master’s son.
Rebecca, the daughter of Abraham’s nephew Bethuel, appears at the well and passes the “test.” Eliezer is invited to their home, where he repeats the story of the day’s events. Rebecca returns
with Eliezer to the land of Canaan, where they encounter Isaac praying in the field. Isaac marries Rebecca, loves her, and is comforted over the loss of his mother.
Abraham takes a new wife, Keturah (Hagar), and fathers six additional sons, but Isaac is designated as his only heir. Abraham dies at age 175 and is buried beside Sarah by his two eldest sons,
Isaac and Ishmael.
