Purim began last night-Thursday, March 13, and continues through today - Friday, March 14.

Dear Friend,

Who doesn’t love Purim? Costumes, feasts, edible gifts and levity. What’s there not to love?

The extreme joy of Purim came after some extremely challenging times. As recounted in the Scroll of Esther (which we read last night on Purim eve and will read again today), the Jews of Persia were under dire threat of extermination, saved by a divinely orchestrated combination of serendipity, bravery, and faith.

The story of Purim is not just an ancient tale—it is a living lesson that continues to inspire us today. When Haman’s decree threatened our nation, Mordechai gathered 22,000 children to study Torah and pray. It was this unwavering commitment to Jewish education that ultimately led to our salvation. Today, each of you—our community members, donors, and supporters—are playing the role of Mordechai. Through your dedication to strengthening Jewish education and Jewish life, you are ensuring the spiritual growth of our children and the well-being of our community, bringing salvation to the Jewish people.

At Chabad of Merrick-Bellmore-Wantagh, we are devoted to serving our communities through a wide variety of educational programs, including the Alan & Tatyana Form Jewish Early Learning Center preschool, Chabad Hebrew School and Camp Gan Israel. Our CTeen Junior and Teen Cooking for Hope, cater to preteens and teenagers. We also offer educational programs for women (Temi Horowitz Rosh Chodesh Society) and men (weekly tefillin club).

This Purim, as we celebrate the miracles of the past, let us recognize the miracles we are building for the future. Join us as we pray that—like our ancestors in Persia—the world experiences a turnaround so drastic, so breathtakingly absolute, only G-d could have arranged it!

Wishing you and your family a joyous, meaningful, and freilichen Purim!

With warmest regards,

Rabbi Shimon and Chanie Kramer

With wishes for a happy (and healthy!) Purim and a Shabbat Shalom,

- Rabbi Shimon and Chanie Kramer

P.S. Looking forward to seeing you soon!
