Chabad Hebrew School of Merrick offers a warm and engaging Jewish educational experience for children in Pre-K through 7th grade. Classes meet once a week throughout the school year (unless otherwise noted on the calendar), providing students with a meaningful connection to their Jewish heritage in a fun and welcoming environment.
Families may choose from the following schedules:
• Sundays, 10:00 AM–12:00 PM
• Wednesdays, 5:00 PM–6:30 PM

Summer Hebrew Reading – Virtual Lessons for 2025-26 CHS students who are registered for CHS 2026-27 Keep your child’s Hebrew reading strong all summer with virtual sessions. No extra charge for registered students.
Extra-Curricular Activities We’re exploring options such as music, baking, art, and sports. baking and feel free to share your ideas! Our goal is to keep programs engaging and at minimal cost. Programs may be offered alongside additional learning opportunities.
Additional Learning Opportunities In addition to the weekly Hebrew School program, there will be an option to add extra days to further strengthen Hebrew reading skills, as well as a separate day focused on deepening your child’s connection to their Jewish heritage at minimal cost. Programs may be offered alongside extra curricular activities.

We only admit students or perform a Bar/Bat Mitzvah service for students who are considered Jewish by Israel’s Chief Rabbinate Halachic standards.

Registration & Book Fee: $65 per child
Armed Security Fee: $55 per child
Pre-K - Kindergarten: $365
Grades 1- 6: $965
Grade 7: Living Judaism + Bar/ Bat Mitzvah Club: $985
Grade 8: Grade 8: Volunteer at Hebrew School &/or  Cindy Knoll Circle of Hope
There are no additional fees for classes or membership.

Early Bird Discount
$100 off per child until Thursday, June 18, 2026
SIBLING DISCOUNT: $65 discount for each additional child registering per family. (ie: discount taken to 2nd, 3rd, 4th children)
Discounts cannot be combined.
Hebrew School Referral Program
Thanks to a grant we are excited to offer referral credits for this year’s Hebrew School tuition! Limited funds are available, so apply early.
Referral Rewards
- Refer a new student and receive a $200 tuition credit for each child you bring in.
- The new student you refer will also receive a $200 discount toward this year’s Hebrew School tuition.
Details
- If you already registered &Â paid your Hebrew School tuition in full, we will refund you the referral credit amount.
- If two or more families refer the same student, the $200 referral credit will be split between them.
- In order to receive the referral credit, the new student must list your name on the application.
- Referral credits do not apply to current Chabad Hebrew School or JELC Preschool students.
- Referral discount cannot be combined with other discounts. (example: scholarship, early bird, sibling discount)
- You may earn multiple referral credits for referring more than one student.

Scholarship:
If you would like to submit a scholarship application please first complete the Hebrew School application form for your child/ren along with submitting a registration fee of $55 (check or credit card). We will not process the registration fee until the procedure is completed.
