Overview:
This week's lesson centers around the Jewish people's historical and spiritual connection to
Israel. The children will virtually visit places and people in our history, beginning with Avraham
and Sarah! Places they will visit will be Jericho, the Eleh valley, Chevron and Jerusalem. The
stories from Tanach will come alive through a variety of mediums, including animation, sand art
storytelling and video. They will bake Pita with Sarah Emeinu and craft a beautiful watercolor of
the Kotel, using coffee!
Art supplies:
1 sheet white paper
9 teaspoons ground coffee
1 cup warm water
Teaspoon
Measuring cup
4 plastic cups
Thin paintbrush
Thick paintbrush (optional)
Masking tape
Ruler
Pencil
Coffee mixtures diagram (print)
Supplies for pita baking:
3 cups flour
1 1/4 cups water
1 1/2 tspn salt
1 Cookie baking sheet
Parchment paper
Mosaic supplies:
Mosaic main paper (print)
Mosaic Filler paper (print and cut out the pieces to fill the mosaic main paper)
Pen/pencil
Scissor
