Lesson Plan K - 2 and 3 - 5:
We count the Omer in anticipation of receiving the Torah, the same way we count the days leading up to an exciting event.

We will discuss how the Jewish people worked on becoming their best selves and making their neshama shine brightly in preparation for  receiving the Torah. During these 49 days, we also work on becoming our best selves and making our Neshama shine. We will focus on improving the 3 character traits of self control,  gratitude and grit/perseverance that will be presented as real life scenarios through animation.

Students will decorate a “Shining my Best Self “ Sefirah chart with creative salt and glue glitter. The lesson will end with a meaningful movement and meditation activity led by Nir Moriah, trained Israeli Olympian and certified Taekwondo instructor.

Lesson Plan 6 - 7:
During the Omer, we focus on character development as a way to prepare for receiving the Torah. We will learn the Mishna of Im Ein Ani Li from Pirkei Avot as a guide, teaching us how to balance our personal self-work with our communal responsibility,  as well as the importance of making our time count. We will end with a practical exercise that will allow us to focus on one particular character trait we want to improve in during this Omer period.
